« The » Samarobriva Pipes and Drums" vise à promouvoir l’apprentissage de la cornemuse, des percussions et de la danse écossaise, à encourager un esprit de camaraderie entre les porteurs de kilts et de soutenir et développer la culture écossaise sous toutes ses formes.

"Samarobriva" est le nom de la ville d’Amiens à l’époque gallo-romaine et signifie "le pont (briva) sur la Somme (Samara)".

La devise de la ville "Liliis tenaci vimine jungor" signifie "Un lien puissant m’unit au lys".

Fondée le 17 mars 2007, "The Samarobriva Pipes and Drums", association régie par la loi de 1901 a pour objet :

- la promotion de l’apprentissage de la cornemuse, des percussions et de la
danse écossaise,

- le soutien, et le développement de la culture écossaise sous toutes ses
formes.

Avec 30 adhérents, l’association forme à la pratique de la grande cornemuse écossaise (Great Highland Bagpipe), des percussions (Bass Drum, Snare Drum, Tenor Drum) et de la danse écossaise (Scottish Country Dance) et ce, tous les mercredis (hors vacances scolaires) au siège de l’association, à Amiens, de 18H30 à 21H30.

Welcome to the blog of the association "The Samarobriva Pipes and Drums" which aims to promote learning the bagpipes, drums and highland dancing, to encourage and develop Scottish culture in all its forms.

These pages are intended to show the variety of activities that can be implemented by the association to prove that wearing a kilt is easy and natural.

"Samarobriva" is the name of the city of Amiens in the Gallo-Roman and means "the bridge (Briva) on the Somme (Samara)".
The motto of the city "Liliis tenaci vimine jungor" means "A strong bond unites me with lily".

Founded on March 17th, 2007, "The Samarobriva Pipes and Drums", governed by the 1901 act is to association :

- the promotion of learning the bagpipes, drums and highland dancing,

- support and development of Scottish culture in all its forms.

With 30 members, the association form to the practice of the great highland bagpipe (Great Highland Bagpipe), percussion (Bass Drum, Snare Drum, Tenor Drum) and the Scottish dance (Scottish Country Dance) and that every Wednesday (except holidays) at the headquarters of the association, at Amiens, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
